Great recipes, terrible binding March 7, 2010 G Pyro (MI USA) I love the recipes.
The book is full of great information.
The binding is terrible as all the pages are coming out of the book.
And there is no room to 3 hole punch the pages and put them in a binder.
All you need for great grilling! November 13, 2009 S. Brown (Dallas, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought "Real Grilling" with my new grill last year as kind of an add on. In the more than a year that has passed, "Real Grilling" has become the most used cookbook in the house. From the "Bourbon barbecued Rib-Eye Steaks" that I made 2 nights ago, to the "Cedar Plank Salmon" my daughter asked for last month when home from college to the "shrimp tacos" that had everyone thinking I was a great chef, this book is full of great recipes that are well illustrated and easy to follow. There is something for everyone in this book. If you need a grilling Bible, get this book. In addition to great recipes, the author covers basics about different types of grills and adds many rub and marinate recipes as well. The only downside, as others have noted, my book is in several pieces from being used so much. I have considered making a looseleaf binder of the pages myself, but if the publisher would make a spiral version that would be helpful.
The best book on grilling I have ever seen October 14, 2009 William Pollock (Sacramento, California) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this book at my local supermarket of all places and its a jewel: every dish has a gorgeous serving photo and every recipe I have tried (== lots) has so far been a winner. Purviance goes into a good but not overly lurid technical detail about what you are and shouldn't be doing when grilling. The recipes are straightforward and keep to a fairly consistent set of staple ingredients. I have wished at times there was a bit more recipes for tri-tip in there, but overall the cuts and types of meat used are a pretty wide survey and each common cut is touched on at least once in the book. He's done the cook a favor by breaking out rubs and sauces used in some of the recipes into their own section so you can mix and match and as a result, nearly everything coming out of my kitchen in the last month has had a bit of pork rub thrown on it. Nothing bad to say about this book: I consider it as fundamental to the kitchen as "The Joy of Cooking".
A must have book for the serious grill meister September 11, 2009 Phillip A. Hulstedt 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Whether a beginner or a seasoned griller, this is a great addition to any collection.
Weber Grill Books are very good!! September 8, 2009 Faith Brennan 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Weber Grill Books are very good!! This is another good one. My only criticism is for the lack of nutritional analysis to accompany the recipes.
